Update

Welcome to the Winter Daily Snow for the 2018-2019 season!

I will write a fresh update every day through the end of the season in April 2019. We will talk about snow, the weather forecast, and especially when we can expect the next storms and deep powder days.

Currently on Thursday morning, a weak system brushing by the northeast corner of Colorado and we are seeing light snow in Winter Park. Accumulations should be minimal, but it’s always good to see snowflakes in the air!

On Friday and Saturday we’ll have dry and sunny weather.

Then our next chance for snow will be on Sunday into Monday with 1-4 inches and temperatures on Monday will be very cold with highs in the single digits (great for snowmaking!).

Looking ahead to opening day on Wednesday, November 14, right now the forecast shows dry weather with comfortable temperatures in the 20s and 30s.

About 5 miles from the mountain, at a backcountry weather station at Berthoud Pass, the base depth of natural snowfall is 22 inches which means that about 4-5 FEET of snow has fallen so far during the fall of 2018. That’s a great start and puts our base depth at about 230% of average for November 7th. We can’t ask for a better start!

Thanks so much for reading, for your support of OpenSnow.com, and check back each morning for daily updates!
