Bluebird Monday before the Storm

Update

As of 8am a beautiful alpenglow is evident across the slopes of Lone Mountain with clear skies, light winds and a base temperature of 5 above. Monday will be a sunny day with west winds 5-10mph and a high of 20 at 8000’. Tuesday will be a cloudy but transitional day with snow showers starting around midday ahead of a potent low-pressure system. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for New Year’s Eve (Tues.) into New Year’s Day for the possibility of 6-12” above 7000’. Snow tapers off to snow showers on Thursday before a cold front brings gusty winds and perhaps a few more inches on Friday. Check back tomorrow for updates.
