Get Ready for a Snowy start to 2020!

Update

A cloud veil hangs ominously over the top of Lone Peak this morning in anticipation of the snowy weather to come in the next 12-24 hours. New Year’s Eve Tuesday will be a cloudy day with a few scattered snow showers during the mid-afternoon ahead of an approaching low-pressure system. Today’s high temps at 8000’ will be in the 20-23 degree range with SW winds 15-20mph and higher gusts possible. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Big Sky area starting on New Year’s Evening (6pm) through 11pm New Year’s Day for the possibility of 6-12” above 7000’. Most of the previously mentioned snow will fall during the day on New Year’s Day and along with SW winds 17-23mph, will make it a full-on storm day. Snow tapers off to snow showers on Thursday but another inch or two are possible through the day under heavier squalls. A passing cold front on Friday will bring gusty winds and perhaps a few more inches into Saturday. Enjoy the rest of 2019!
