7am Saturday Update

Update

As of 7am Saturday morning no new snow has fallen overnight at the Challenger snow stake with mostly cloudy skies over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 8 degrees in the village and light winds. Today expect cloudy skies with a stray snow shower or two through the day (no accumulations) with a high temperature of 18 degrees at 8000’.  Winds will be out of the Southwest at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25mph possible on the alpine and ridge tops. The MLK weekend continues with clear skies on Sunday and seasonal daytime highs of 25 degrees at 8000’. High-pressure builds for the first part of next week keeping the sun shining on MLK Monday and into Tuesday as well with slightly warmer temps. A weak disturbance looks to roll through Tuesday night into Wednesday, which is our next chance for measurable snow.
