8am Tuesday Update

Update

As of 8am Tuesday morning a skiff of new snow fell overnight with mostly cloudy skies over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 24 degrees in the village. Today expect the clouds through the morning with partly sunny skies into the afternoon hours with a high temperature of 32 degrees at 8000’.  Winds will be light to moderate out of the Southwest at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25mph.

High-pressure breaks down tonight as a weak disturbance moves in with light snow after midnight with 1-3” possible by first chair Wednesday. Snow showers will decrease through the morning hours and the sun finds its way back in the afternoon with highs in the mid 20’s at 8000’.

From Thursday through the weekend high-pressure tries to build but will have a few weak disturbances overriding it bringing mainly cloudy skies with a chance of snow showers as well. Daytime temps across Big Sky will continue to be about 5 degrees above seasonal averages through the weekend. No major organized storms are apparent in the long term models so stay tuned for daily updates on any changes to that.
