Stormy Saturday

Update

At 8am Saturday morning 2” of new snow has fallen overnight at the Challenger snow stake with heavy snow falling across the resort and a temperature of 22 degrees in the village. For today expect snow, heavy at times to continue through the day with another 4-8” by last chair and a high temperature of around 24 degrees at 8000’ falling into the middle teens during the afternoon hours. Expect it to be a windy day with west winds of 15-25mph on the ridge tops and alpine areas with gusts up to 35mph.

The cold front that is moving through today will keep snow flying into Saturday night with an additional 3-5” possible overnight. Things dry out for a sunny and brisk Sunday with a high of 17 and light west winds. Clouds increase for Monday before a weak system brings chances for a few snow showers Tuesday into Wednesday. The rest of next week looks pretty much the same, a mix of sun, clouds and a few snow showers thrown in with continued cool temps. Enjoy another pow day today and be safe!
