Friday Freshies

Update

At 8am Friday morning 5-6” of new snow has fallen overnight at the windblown Challenger snow stake (7” at Andesite stake) with light snow continuing to fall and a temperature of 16 degrees in the village. The current Winter Storm Warning will expire 11am this morning. For today expect the light snow to continue through the day with another 3-5” by last chair and a high temperature of around 26 degrees at 8000’. West/NW winds are currently in the moderate range of 15-20mph and will continue today with gusts up to 27mph.

A cold front will move through late tonight into Saturday that looks to keep the party going with moderate to heavy snow Saturday with 4-8” by late afternoon. Daytime temps will cool back down to the upper teens (8000’) in the afternoon with gusty west winds 15-25mph making it quite blustery in the alpine. Things dry out for a sunny and brisk Sunday and Monday before the storm door opens again for chances of snow Tuesday into Wednesday. Drive safe, ride safe and have fun out there!
