Super Thursday

Update

At 8am Thursday morning 10” of new snow has fallen since 4pm yesterday at the Challenger snow stake with heavy snow continuing to fall and a temperature of 20 degrees in the village. We are currently under a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow through Friday morning with 24-hour snow totals of up to 28”! For today expect the powder to be deep with snow through the day (another 5-10” by last chair) and a high temperature of around 25 degrees at 8000’. Moderate NW winds will be in the range of 15-20mph with gusts up to 30mph.

The snow will keep flying Thursday night and continue into midday Friday with an additional 12-16” likely before the river of moisture moves into eastern Montana on Friday afternoon. Another storm system on a NW flow is poised to move through on Saturday and Saturday night. Snow amounts ranging from 3-5” look possible on Saturday refreshing things nicely for weekend shredders. Daytime temps look to cool back down to seasonal averages with this second storm. Things dry out for a sunny Sunday and Monday before the storm door opens again for chances of snow Tuesday into Wednesday. Drive safe, ride safe and have fun out there!
