Summary

One inch overnight is just the start as snow continues Friday with another 2 to 4 inches likely through the day along with continued cold temperatures. SW winds will be quite gusty making things a bit blustery up high. The upcoming weekend looks to offer another inch or three on Saturday followed by a full on sunny day on Sunday.

Today:  

At 7:00AM it’s 17 degrees in the Village and 8 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. 1 inch of new snow was reported in the last 24 hours. Currently the skies are cloudy with light snow showers over Lone and Andesite mountains. At Andesite Mountain at 8800’ winds are currently blowing out of the W/SW at 5 mph with a recent gust to 15 mph.

Today expect snow in various intensities and intervals along with continued chilly daytime temperatures. Accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are likely. Mountain high temperatures across mid to upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 15 to 17 degrees. Winds will be moderate Friday, blowing out of the West/SW at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph across the ridge tops.

Extended Forecast:

Friday night, another wave of moisture moves through the region that could bring 2 to 4 additional inches. For Saturday, cloudy skies with persistent snow showers with another 1 to 3 inches possible through the day along with continued cold daytime temps with a high near 15 at 9000’. Sunny skies look to be on tap for Sunday along with slightly warmer daytime temps with a high near 20 across the upper terrain. A mix of sun, clouds and occasional flurries now look to be on tap for Monday through Thursday next week. Next week’s forecast can change by tomorrow as all three models are not in agreement, so stay tuned.
