Increasing Clouds and Winds

Summary

Blue skies Saturday morning will make way for increasing clouds and gusty SW winds around noon for a cloudy and windy afternoon. Snow showers will develop after last chair with overnight accumulations of 1 to 2 inches. Sunday, a few leftover flurries in the AM, then mostly sunny and cold, with highs at 9000’ around 22. Next snow possibility, Tuesday night through Thursday time frame.

Today:                                               

At 7:00AM it’s 20 degrees in the Village and 27 degrees at the 8850’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the last 24-hours. Currently the skies are clear over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite (8850’) are blowing from the South at 11 mph with a recent  gust to 22 mph.

Today, sunny skies until around noon, then increasing clouds. SW Winds will also be increasing with afternoon sustained winds of 20-25 mph with gusts to 45 mph. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 35 degrees.

Extended Forecast:

A Pacific cold front brings snow showers Saturday evening into Saturday night with 1 to 2 inches possible. For Sunday, a mix of morning flurries, then mostly sunny, colder with highs at 9000’ of around 22 degrees. Monday and Tuesday look to be sunny days with continued below average daytime temperatures with upper mountain highs at 9000’ in the mid to upper 20’s. By Tuesday evening an upper level disturbance will bring another round of spring snow showers, cold temps and gusty winds into Wednesday and possibly Thursday as well. Stay tuned.
