Wednesday

Our next round of snow is currently making its way into Colorado on Wednesday and will begin to ramp up for Breckenridge as we head deeper into Wednesday afternoon. The snow level will initially hover near 9,000 feet so don't be surprised to see rain in town and a very wet snow quality up high.

Wednesday Night - Thursday

I don't have a lot of big changes to discuss in regards to Wednesday night through Thursday. The surge of moisture, swirling winds, and decent storm energy will produce moderate to heavy snow from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.

The heaviest snow should then taper off through midday Thursday and be followed by additional snow showers on Thursday afternoon. Temps will only climb into the teens on Thursday thanks to a cold front that will also help increase snowfall rates at times into Thursday morning.

In total, I'm going to go with 3-7 inches on Wednesday night and into Thursday so a slight downgrade compared to my previous thinking. There's still good upside potential so keep your schedules open for first chair on Thursday and maybe a few fluffier leftovers on Friday morning.

Friday

The storm will begin to clear out on Thursday night and into Friday morning as much drier air filters into Colorado from the north. This drier air will bring cool temps for mid-March as highs will only climb into the teens to low 20s on Friday under mostly sunny skies.

Saturday & Beyond

This weekend will feature a mix of partly sunny skies, temps in the 20s, and maybe a slight chance for off-and-on snow showers during the second half of Saturday and into Sunday. It does look like the bulk of the action will remain to our south.

Looking ahead to next week, we'll be tracking more off-and-on snow showers on Monday and Tuesday ahead of another significant storm around Wednesday, March 22 and into Thursday, March 23. Yes, it's still a week away but confidence continues to rise with every major model in line with this thinking.
