Moderate to heavy snow Thursday, light snow Friday and Saturday

Summary

Snow amounts through early Thursday morning ranged from 2-12 cm (1-5”) for most areas, while Mt. Washington on Vancouver Island picked up 31 cm (12”). Periods of snow will continue from Thursday through Thursday night with the heaviest amounts over the Coast Range, the South Columbia/Kootenay region, and the Lizard Range around Fernie. First chair Friday morning will offer the best powder turns. Additional light snow can be expected on Friday and Saturday before drying out on Sunday. The pattern will turn active again next week with multiple storms expected.
