Revelstoke Surprise

Summary

Revelstoke has been a big surprise so far, with 25 cm (10”) reported Tuesday morning! Elsewhere, snow amounts through Tuesday morning had ranged from 4-8” for Coastal ski areas and 1-3” for southern interior ski areas. Heavy snow is expected across the Coast Range Tuesday through Thursday with lingering lighter snow on Friday and Saturday. The Wednesday through Friday morning period will be the best time to ski powder in places like Whistler (early season snow depth issues aside). For the Interior, Revelstoke is having a good powder day on Tuesday, and Wednesday morning will also offer good turns for Revelstoke and other North Columbia ski areas such as Silverstar and Big White. For the rest of the Interior, the heavier snow will arrive late this week with Friday afternoon through Sunday morning offering the best window to ski powder. Overall this is still looking like a great storm cycle with all areas enjoying deep powder at various times over the course of the week. Sunday through Christmas Day is looking drier, then we may see another storm arrive just after Christmas.
