Update

The mid-mountain snow stake shows 2 inches as of 700 am on Friday morning, and snow should continue to fall through late morning with another few inches likely. Get out and enjoy the fresh turns on Friday morning, and dress warmly as the temperature is in the upper teens.

After the snow showers end on Friday midday and afternoon, we should see dry weather on Friday night into Saturday morning. A weak system to our north may bring clouds and snow showers from later Saturday through Sunday, and this might result in light snow accumulation.

The next storm should bring snow on Wednesday and Thursday (January 31 - February 1). This system is trending further north, but because Copper is positioned in northern Colorado, we should still receive snow, and 3-6 inches from Wednesday through Thursday is still my initial forecast.

After that storm, I do not know what will happen between about February 2-7. Many models keep us dry with the storm track staying to our north. A few models drop a stronger storm into Colorado later in the period. Some models keep light snow over northern Colorado for many days. It’s a tricky forecast and I don’t know how it’ll turn out. Let’s hope for the best.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
