Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Update

Today on Sunday, weak energy and moisture will move over the northern mountains of Colorado (where Copper is located), and this will likely mean partly cloudy skies with times of snow showers and perhaps very light accumulations (a coating to an inch). The high temperature on Sunday should be in the upper-20s.

Early next week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be dry, partly sunny, and high temperatures will be warmer, reaching to the mid-to-upper 30s.

The next storm should bring snow on Wednesday night and Thursday (January 31 - February 1). Copper will likely be right on the edge between lighter snow accumulations (just a few inches) and more significant accumulations to the north and east. On Thursday, you could find anything from a day with a fresh inch or two, all the way to a significant powder day. Stay tuned.

After that, from Friday, February 2, through Friday, February 9, the storm track will set up over or just to the north of Copper. This means that we’ll likely see times of dry weather when the storm track retreats to the north, times of light snow as the storm track sags south, and perhaps even a few times of more intense snow if a stronger system moves directly over Colorado. February 2-9 has a lot of potential for fresh snow, but I’m leery about getting too excited just yet as there is little consistency in the forecast models.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
