Update

Tuesday and Wednesday’s weather should be similar to Monday – partly cloudy skies and high temperatures rising into the mid-to-upper 30s.

Then the weather will get interesting starting on Wednesday night and continuing for about one week. The storm track will position itself near or over northern Colorado (where Copper is located) and this will bring chances for snow nearly every day and night for about one week.

The best chance for more intense snow will be when pieces of energy and colder air flow over northern Colorado, and right now, I think these times could be Thursday, Saturday, and Tuesday. This means that the best powder could be on Thursday, Saturday-day or Sunday morning, and Tuesday. However, I have very low confidence about the exact timing of each of these pieces of energy, so don’t get too hung up on the details of the forecast just yet.

Also, remember that a little bit of snow each day and night for many days can lead to great conditions even if no single day snow reports shows a lot of snow. With lots of moisture in the air, and chances for snow for seven days, we could wind up with fantastic conditions from this storm cycle, but keep your expectations in check as this is a hard forecast and slight adjustments in the track of each storm could greatly change the final snow amount.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
