Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Update
UPDATE on Wednesday night at 715pm:
The potential snow on Thursday now looks less likely. I still think we have a good chance for snow and powder on Saturday, maybe Sunday, and likely Tuesday. I'll have a full update on Thursday morning.
-----
On Tuesday we saw partly sunny skies with a mid-mountain high temperature right around 40F.
Now on Wednesday morning, our temperature is warm (30F) thanks to cloud cover and more wind than the previous nights. We’ll likely see mostly cloudy skies today on Wednesday, which will keep the temperature in the 30s with flatter light conditions.
Then the weather will get interesting starting on Wednesday night and continuing for about one week. The storm track will position itself near or over northern Colorado (where Copper is located) and this will bring chances for snow nearly every day and night for about one week.
The best chance for more intense snow will be when pieces of energy and colder air move over northern Colorado, and right now, I think these times could be Thursday, Friday night through Saturday, and sometime early next week.
This means that there could be powder on Thursday afternoon, Saturday-day and Sunday morning, and then at least one or two days next week. This storm cycle will be rather warm (highs in the 20s) along with windy conditions, and both of these factors should make the powder a little thicker and “surfy”. Copper’s high elevation will likely help it to see healthy snow totals even though warmer storms aren’t as favorable for deep snow.
Remember that a little bit of snow each day and night, for many days, can lead to great conditions even if no single day’s snow report shows a lot of snow. With lots of moisture in the air, and chances for snow for seven days, we could wind up with fantastic conditions from this storm cycle.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
