Update

Sunday afternoon brought a few snow showers. Then on Sunday night, we saw more intense snow showers and the snow stake shows that about 3 inches of snow accumulated on the mountain. This isn’t enough new snow for a real powder day on Monday morning, but hopefully, it provides a nice little refresh on some of the groomers, and it’s wonderful to see snowflakes again after a week of dry and sunny weather.

For Monday, we will have lingering snow showers in the morning with a little bit of additional snow accumulation, then the rest of the day should be dry with partly-to-mostly cloudy skies.

Looking at the week ahead, we’ll see three chances for snow.

The first storm on Tuesday should bring showers, especially from midday through the nighttime. This will be a weak and warm storm, so I am only expecting a dusting to a few inches of accumulation.

The second storm on Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning will also be weak and warm. Again, we could see anything from a dusting to a few inches of accumulation.

The third storm on Friday afternoon through Saturday morning could be stronger. This system will track over southeastern Colorado, which is usually a little too far away to bring us significant snow. However, the latest forecasts show that the storm will track a bit closer to us, and if this track holds, then we might see 2-6 inches of accumulation by Saturday morning.

To summarize the best chances to ski or ride a few inches of new snow, they will be Tuesday last chair or Wednesday first chair, Thursday first chair, and Saturday first chair.

Looking ahead about one week, we should see a brief period of dry weather on Saturday into Sunday. Then there will likely be a slow-moving and cold storm sometime next week. When I have a clue which day or days could offer powder, you’ll be the first to know. Until then, we’ll leave it at “sometime next week” and remain cautiously optimistic.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
