Copper Mountain Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 3 years ago December 2, 2020
Storm total of 2 inches
Summary
Snow fell on Tuesday with a total of 2 inches at mid-mountain by Wednesday morning. We’ll see dry weather for over a week with the next possible storm around Friday, December 11.
Short Term Forecast
On Tuesday we saw light snow during the day with a coating to one 1 inch of accumulation.
Then on Tuesday night, we saw a little bit more snow with about 1 inch on the mid-mountain snow stake.
In total, the light snow on Monday night, Tuesday, and Tuesday night resulted in 2 inches of total accumulation. It’s not much, but every flake helps!
Looking ahead, Wednesday will be a mostly sunny and a mostly dry day as the storm moves away, yet temperatures will remain chilly with highs in the teens.
Extended Forecast
Thursday, December 3 will be dry and warmer with high temperatures in the 20s.
From Friday, December 4 through Thursday, December 10, look for dry weather, lots of sunshine, and warmer temperatures with daily highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s.
Our next chance for a storm should be around Friday, December 11. There will actually be two storms around this time, one tracking toward Colorado from the northwest, and one tracking toward Colorado from the southwest. If the energy from these storms can combine, or at least if the southern storm brings a lot of moisture, perhaps we can grab significant snow totals. The systems are still 9 days away so all we can do is hope for the best and fine-tune the forecast as the time gets closer.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
