Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Storm total of 3 inches at Copper
Summary
Snow fell on Monday and Monday night resulting in 3 inches by Tuesday morning. We’ll see light snow showers on Tuesday, a chance for a few inches on Wednesday, and then another storm Thursday night through Friday.
Short Term Forecast
On Monday, we saw on-and-off snow, and then we enjoyed steadier snow on Monday night. The total snowfall from this storm was 3 inches, with most of that falling on Monday afternoon and Monday night. Enjoy the soft turns on Tuesday morning.
Tuesday will be a mixed day with some breaks of sunshine and some lingering snow showers. The wind direction from the north-northwest is not the most favorable direction for more snow accumulation.
On Tuesday late night into Wednesday morning, a surge of moisture will push over northern Colorado and the jet stream will move into a good position overhead. Most forecast models show just a coating to 2 inches on Wednesday morning and midday, though amounts could be deeper than this. Keep your eye on the snow stake cam.
Wednesday night through Thursday midday will be dry.
Then the next storm will bring snow from Thursday afternoon through Friday. While this system will be weaker than the Monday storm, it will bring more moisture, so the net result could be similar, with snow totals in the 3-6 inch range, and some upside potential due to the additional moisture. Friday could offer soft turns.
Extended Forecast
From Saturday, December 19 through Tuesday, December 22, expect dry weather as the storm track stays to our north. We might get clipped by a few snow showers, but right now accumulations look like little to zero.
The next chance for a storm will be around Wednesday, December 23rd.
After that, it appears that we’ll be in for a week or so of dry weather, with a stormier pattern potentially returning around the new year.
