Our next chance for snow at Copper
Summary
Saturday will be a mostly dry day, though a far-away storm could bring snow showers later in the day and at night. Then Sunday through Wednesday will be dry. There will be a low chance for showers next Thursday, and a better chance for snow next weekend.
Short Term Forecast
Friday was a sunny day.
On Saturday, a reasonably strong storm will track well to the south of Colorado. We should see drier weather for the first part of the day, then during the afternoon and evening, there could be snow showers and very light accumulations.
From Sunday through Wednesday, the storm track will stay to our north and east and we’ll see dry, sunny, and warm weather.
Our next chance for snow showers will be around Thursday, January 14th, though any accumulation should be light from this system.
Our next chance for more significant snow will be around Saturday, January 16 to Sunday, January 17.
Extended Forecast
My thinking about the long-term forecast has not changed.
The week of January 18-22 looks a little more active with the chance for a storm or two to clip Colorado, though the main storm track will likely still be to our north and east.
Then the week of January 25-29 continues to look stormy across the western US and Rockies and let’s hope that this indication of stormy weather around the west will translate into significant snow here in Colorado.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
