Sunny and warm through Thursday, then winter returns

Summary

Enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures, which will feel like springtime on the mountain this week.

Update

Saturday was a gorgeous day with no clouds in the sky and afternoon temperatures in the teens to low 20s.

The weather on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will also be sunny, and temperatures will warm up each day. Highs on Sunday and Monday will be around 30°F, and highs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be very warm, reaching up to around 40°F each day.

These warm temperatures will create soft and slushy snow on south-facing and lower-elevation slopes during the afternoon, with crunchy conditions in the morning due to the overnight freeze. The best snow conditions are usually during the late morning when the crunchy snow has softened but is not yet too soft.

Then, at the end of the week, springtime weather will transition to winter weather. We should see snow from Friday into Saturday with potential powder on Saturday, then at least two additional storms will move through Colorado as we head into the second week of March.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
