Copper Mountain Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 3 years ago March 9, 2022
Snow ramps up later on Wednesday
Summary
We'll see light snow on Wednesday, then intense snow on Wednesday night, with powder likely on Thursday morning.
Update
Tuesday brought a mix of sunshine, clouds, and a few snow showers with no accumulation.
On Tuesday night, the first part of our midweek storm dropped about 1 inch of snow across the mountain.
Now on Wednesday morning, we are seeing a mix of snow showers and some breaks of drier weather as well.
During the day on Wednesday, we will see more snow showers and could measure light accumulations through the afternoon. Then the main event will arrive on Wednesday evening when an intense band of snow moves over the mountain. I think 4-8 inches is a good estimate for snowfall from late Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, and this means that there will be powder for Thursday morning's first chair.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be mostly dry days, though we could see a snow shower each day with limited to no accumulation. Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will be chilly with highs in the single digits and teens. Then on Saturday and Sunday, we will warm up with high temperatures in the 20s.
Our next chance for snow will be on Sunday late afternoon and Sunday night with perhaps a few inches of accumulation in time for Monday morning.
Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
