Copper Mountain Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 10 years ago December 25, 2014
Merry Christmas, and happy holidays to those who don't celebrate Christmas! Light snow is falling this morning, and look for continuing times of light to moderate snow during the day on Thursday, Thursday night, and Friday. There is decent moisture with this storm, but the wind direction will start from the southwest and transition to the east, and both of these are not great directions for Copper. Eventually the wind will blow from the northwest on Friday, and this "better" wind direction will bring on-and-off heavier snow showers. Total snowfall between Thursday morning and Friday evening should be around six inches, but this is a tough storm to predict as some factors point toward more snow and other factors point toward less. No matter, conditions will soften on Thursday and perhaps be powdery on Friday morning and midday.
Following this storm, Saturday will be dry, then additional light snow will fall Sunday through Tuesday. I'll provide more details on this storm in the next day or two.
Finally, temperatures will be pretty chilly Friday through next week (8-15F for highs), so check the details of the forecast and dress warm:-)
