This Week

Tuesday morning will dawn with dry weather and partly cloudy skies.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and chilly with a daytime high temperature of 10-15°F. Also, 2-3 inches of medium-density snow accumulated just after Monday's last chair, so there should be areas with a little powder to enjoy on Tuesday morning.

Wednesday will be partly sunny and dry with a daytime high temperature of around 15°F. During the late afternoon, the next storm will arrive and snow should begin to fall.

Thursday could be a powder day with 2-5 inches of snow by the time of the first chair and another 1-3 inches possible during the day. Abundant moisture and the presence of the jet stream overhead will also make it possible for snow totals to exceed the forecast, so that will be something to watch (and hope for). The temperature on Thursday will be warmer with a high of 20-25°F.

Friday will be dry, sunny, and warmer with a high temperature of 30-35°F.

Saturday should be dry and warm, but it's possible that an incoming storm could produce some snow later in the day.

Longer Range

From Sunday, January 5 through at least Sunday, January 12, Colorado will be on the southern edge of the storm track. During this time, multiple storms should brush by Colorado, and each of these systems could produce anything from a few flakes to many inches of snow.

At the moment, it does not appear that any of these storms will bring a lot of snow, but I am hopeful that there will be snow in the air on many days, and that this would lead to reasonably soft and fun conditions across the mountain.
