Friday

Saturday & Sunday
During the weekend, a storm will track to the north of Colorado. Forecast data shows that a lot of snow should fall well to the north of Colorado, while the Copper area will be on the edge of the snow.
There will be a LOT of moisture in the air, and some models convert this moisture into 4-10+ inches of snow.
However, there will be an absence of a strong spark to convert this moisture into snow, since temperatures will be rather warm, the jet stream will be to the north, and storm energy will be weak-ish. So other models bring just lower amounts of snow, or even no snow, due to the absence of these ingredients.
What will happen? Our forecast model blend shows about 1-3 inches of snow. In addition to any snow and the warmth, winds will also be gusty. So expect a little bit of everything with maybe some snowflakes, some wind, and some warmth with highs in the low 30s.
Monday and Tuesday
Monday and Tuesday should be dry, partly cloudy, gusty, and warm with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 30s.
Longer Range
There will be two potential stormy periods through the middle of February. The first will be around February 5-8, and the second will be around February 11-15. Those are wide windows of time because the storms are still one to two weeks away, and we'll figure out the details and narrow down those windows soon enough.

If there is a significant change to the forecast for this weekend's snow (or if it actually snows a lot), I'll write an update on Saturday and/or Sunday morning. Otherwise, my next update will be on Monday morning.
