Posting Schedule

I am traveling to ski with my family through February 2. In an attempt to spend as much time with them (and get some sleep, too!), my posts will be shorter and more to the point than normal. And I will write on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule unless it makes sense to adjust this based on the timing of upcoming storms. Finally, at the bottom of each post, I will always mention when to expect the next post. Thanks for your understanding and your support!

Wednesday and Thursday

Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high temperature in the mid-20s.

A storm will track south of Colorado and it is unlikely to significantly impact the weather across northern Colorado. That said, some snow showers could find their way to Copper on Wednesday night and Thursday if the storm is a little stronger and tracks a little farther to the north. So while I do not expect significant snowfall, some flakes or even an inch or two of snow are possible.

Friday

Friday's high temperature will be around 30°F with mostly sunny skies.

Saturday & Sunday

During the weekend, a storm will track to the north of Colorado. Forecast data shows a trend away from stormy weather and toward drier weather, with most or all of the snow staying to the north of Colorado. Both weekend days could be partly to mostly cloudy, and the high temperature on Saturday will be around 30°F, with a warmer high temperature on Sunday reaching the low-30s.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (February 3-5)

All three days should be dry with a high temperature in the low-to-mid 30s.

Longer Range

The next chance for snow will be around Thursday, February 6, to Friday, February 7. While many versions of many models still show a decent chance for snow during this time, once again, the trend is now away from deeper snow totals and somewhat toward a storm with only light-to-moderate snow totals. We'll see how the forecast evolves during the next few days.
