Wednesday Recap
Wednesday offered powder in the morning, and the snow quality stayed good throughout the day due to the combination of cold temperatures and snow showers.
Thursday (Mar 20)
Thursday morning is chilly with on-mountain temperatures in the single digits.
Thursday's weather should be dry, partly sunny, and warmer with a high temperature in the upper 20s.
Friday (Mar 21)
There could be a coating to 2 inches of snow for Friday's first chair thanks to a fast-moving storm that will cruise through Colorado on Thursday night.
Otherwise, Friday's weather will be partly sunny with a high temperature in the upper 20s.
Saturday & Sunday (Mar 22-23)
From Friday evening through Sunday morning, a warming storm will bring snow. The best chance for powder will be on Saturday morning, perhaps throughout the day on Saturday, and then maybe soft snow or leftovers on Sunday morning. And the total accumulation may be in the 4-8 inch range.
The BIG caveat is that this storm will have warm air, and sometimes these warm storms bring (much) less snow than models predict at somewhat lower-elevation ski areas farther from the continental divide. The good news is that Copper errs more to the 'higher-elevation, closer to the divide' category, so often Copper can still get significant snow during warm storms.
The summary is that this could be another weekend with powder:-)
The high temperature on both Saturday and Sunday should be around 30°F.
Monday (Mar 24)
On Monday, storm energy will track just to the north of Colorado, and this should create partly to mostly cloudy skies. The high temperature should be in the mid-to-upper 30s.
Tuesday (Mar 25)
On Tuesday, morning clouds should dissipate, and the rest of the day will likely be sunny and warm with a high temperature in the low 40s.
Wednesday to Friday (Mar 26-28)
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, expect mostly sunny and warm weather with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper-40s. It'll feel like spring.
Saturday to the Following Week (Mar 29 - April 4)
Snow will likely return at some point between March 29 and April 4, but the main area of storminess will likely stay off the West Coast and we'll need to get lucky as scraps of storm energy eject eastward and track near or over Colorado.
