Copper Mountain Daily Snow

The storm is cranking up and I think there will be some very good conditions at Copper this week. The initial part of the storm on Monday is the hardest to forecast as we have a bad wind direction (from the southwest) but there could be a band of heavier snow that overwhelms the negative wind direction. On Monday, any amount of snow between 1-7 inches wouldn’t surprise me. From Monday evening through Tuesday midday, the forecast gets a bit easier as most factors should come together to produce heavier snow. Look for 8-12 inches total by midday Tuesday, maybe more, and the skiing on Tuesday morning should be great.
Additional moisture will push in from the northwest and we should see snow continue off-and-on from Tuesday night through Thursday. There is enough uncertainty in the forecast models that I don’t want to get my hopes up, but even a few inches each day and night can quickly produce phenomenal conditions. So keep your eye on Wednesday and Thursday as additional potential powder days, and be sure to download the Sherpa app to stay in the know about terrain openings!
