Update

Saturday was as we expected with a period of sun in the morning then a period of snow during the late afternoon (1 inch accumulated) and then the night turned out to be clear and free of snow. This type of on again, off again snowfall is normal when there is a slow-moving storm well to our south. Think of the storm like a spinning pinwheel with bands of snow and sun rotating around it.

I think much of Sunday will offer sunny or partly sunny weather, and then another period of snow will rotate around the storm and should hit Copper late on Sunday night and continue through Monday morning. Expect 1-3 inches of snow during this time, so on Monday you might enjoy a fresh couple of inches on top of the smooth groomers, which is always a fun morning treat.

Once this storm moves away, expect dry and sunny weather on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and then multiple storms should bring snow from Friday (January 20) through Wednesday (January 25), though I have low confidence in the details of the forecast during this time. Stay tuned!
