Update

Sunday was a fun and fluffy powder day at Copper, and after dry weather during the afternoon, the next storm arrived on Sunday night and dropped 2 inches as of 5am on Monday morning.

Expect light-to-moderate snow on Monday as the wind direction from the southwest does not favor heavy snow at Copper. Then a cold front will arrive on Monday evening, and this should bring a period of intense snow and gusty wind. Be aware that this type of situation can create road closures due to low visibility. The good news is that the snow on Monday evening should drop 4-8 inches and make for a powdery morning on Tuesday. The powder will likely be thicker and dense underneath, with a fluffier layer on top.

A wind direction from the northwest, along with wrap-around moisture from the storm to our east, should keep snowflakes in the air on Tuesday through Wednesday, and this could mean that Tuesday will continue to offer powder through the afternoon, and that Wednesday morning could be quite fun as well. This setup has the potential to produce more snow than is forecast, so stay tuned as I’ll keep you updated each day!
