Update

Friday is storm day!

Expect light-to-moderate snow during the morning and midday with a few inches of snow accumulating by early afternoon. This first part of the storm will be warm with a wind direction from the west-southwest, which is not ideal for Copper.

Then we'll see a cold front hit between about 4-5pm, and when this happens, you'll know. Expect snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour, gusty winds, low visibility, rapidly dropping temperatures, and likely road closures on I-70. After the cold front passes, we'll continue to see snow for a few hours, with the flakes finally ending by late Friday night.

Total snow accumulations should be in the 6-12 inch range, with perhaps a bit more if the cold front delivers in full. You will likely ski a bit of powder by Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning will dawn cold, mostly clear, and with fresh snow on the ground. Welcome back winter!

Looking ahead, there is a chance for light snow around Tuesday, November 21 and again on Friday, November 24. I'll keep you posted on these systems.

Check back for an update tomorrow morning!
