Update

The weather on Friday and Saturday will be partly-to-mostly sunny with comfortable temperatures heading into the mid-to-upper 30s by early afternoon. Lather on the sunscreen and enjoy the 86 trails which are currently open at Copper. Our snowpack is only 76% of average for this date, so be thankful for the hard work of the snowmaking team and the luck of receiving 24 inches of snow in the past week, which all helped to open a good chunk of the mountain.

Looking further ahead, a weak storm to the north of Colorado should bring a few flakes on Saturday night. I am lowering my snow forecast to 0-1 inch, though it’s possible we could get a bit more if the storm drops further south. Then the weather on Sunday through Wednesday should be dry.

Starting on Thursday, January 4th, more active weather should hit the western US and there will be chances for snow on many days between January 4th and at least January 12th.

Thanks for reading and expect my next update on Saturday morning.
