Light Snow Possible Friday, Heavier Snow Sunday...

Summary

A dry pattern Tuesday - Thursday. A weak system moves through Friday with very light precipitation possible. A break Saturday. Then Saturday night into Sunday evening we could see several inches of snow as a wetter storm moves through. A drier pattern is expected early next week.

Update

Tuesday - Thursday:

We will see a drier pattern Monday through Thursday with no weather-related travel impacts expected at this time.

Weekend Storms:

A weak system moves through from early Friday morning into the afternoon and could bring an inch or two of snow to Donner Pass. Snow levels look to be around 5000-6000 ft. We could see chain controls during the day from around Kingvale to Donner Lake if enough moisture reaches the Sierra. Then clearing out Friday night. We'll continue to watch the trends all week.

Saturday looks dry. Then later Saturday night into Sunday night a wetter system could bring several inches of new snow to the northern Sierra. We could see chain controls and slow travel later Saturday night into Sunday night. Snow levels around 5000-6000 ft. More details as we get closer.

Long-Range:

We could see a drier pattern again next week from the 6th-9th. Then we could possibly see a slightly more active pattern starting around the 10th-11th. We'll continue to watch the trends.
