Idaho Daily Snow

Snow Friday, Sunday and beyond in Idaho

A subtropical storm pattern continues to bring precipitation to Idaho, but the storm is on the warm side, so it's bringing a mix of rain and snow at North Idaho resorts on Friday morning, then it will change to all snow this afternoon. About 2-4 inches of new snow are forecast for North Idaho resorts on Friday, as well as Brundage Mountain and Tamarack, where snow levels are 5,250-5,500 feet. Bogus Basin and Pebble Creek are projected to get 1-3 inches out of the storm cycle on Friday, and Pomerelle 2-4 inches. A brief lull will occur on Saturday, with sunshine appearing at Sun Valley, Pomerelle and Pebble Creek. And then another wave of snow storms will hit Idaho statewide on Sunday, with 2-5 inches forecast to fall during the day. The storms continue on Sunday night/Monday and into next week, bringing more snow daily.

Short Term Forecast

Skiing/riding is a magical thing ... (courtesy Tamarack Resort)

It might be a wintry mix on Friday morning in some locations but temperatures are predicted to cool down as the day progresses. Watch snow levels and base area temperatures to make your choices.

Over the next 5 days, the snow should pile up everywhere, with a maximum upside potential of 9-15 inches of new snow to fall by early next week at Lookout Pass, Silver and Schweitzer, and 8-15 inches of new at Pebble Creek, Magic Mountain, Pomerelle, Bogus Basin, Tamarack and Brundage Mountain. Sun Valley is expected to get about 3-7 inches through that period.
