Idaho Daily Snow

High and Dry Today and Tuesday Storms Return Wednesday
Summary
No change in the pattern for the next couple of days means a continuation of cold and dry weather thanks to a ridge of high pressure keeping a dome of arctic air firmly anchored over Idaho. The question remains whether or not the next weather maker will be able to scour out the cold air enough for rain on snow. That dreaded possibility has me scratching my head this morning. Basically it’s a no-brainer that we will see plenty of precipitation this week, even a bunch of snow. The problem is, for the Central Mountains, we might get rain to cement the snowpack we have. Bottom line is that even though this event is only a couple days away, I have very little confidence in how much snow will fall and what the quality will be because it all depends on how warm the leading edge of the moisture plume is Wednesday night.
