Snow on Tap for Friday and Beyond

Summary

A ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere is blocking the possibility of any moisture into Idaho. Instead, we’re experiencing dry, spring-like skiing conditions through the middle of this week or so. Another warm surge of Pacific moisture will move in on Thursday with rain, but colder air will change things over to snow on Friday. Though I do expect several inches of snow during the period from Friday through Monday (President’s Day holiday), a stronger wave of energy is poised to move through the Central Mountains next Tuesday to keep the snow machine cranked up.
