Rinse & Repeat... But with No Water

Summary

The weather we've seen the last 5 days we'll continue to see the next 5 days. No precipitation in the forecast for the foreseeable future. At this time.. the earliest we'll see any flakes fly is still the last week of January... but confidence is still higher that we'll have to wait till February to see any major snow storms.

Short Term Forecast

Holiday Weekend

It's going to be more of the same mostly sunny weather over the weekend. I know I'm sounding like a broken record these days and unfortunately I will continue to do so unless our weather flips backs to a stormy one.

Some high clouds will come over the region from a cut-off low over Southern California today, Saturday. Temps will be in the mid 30's and winds will continue to stay light over the mtn. By tomorrow, Sunday temps will go even lower into the low 30's with mostly sunny skies.

Monday we could see even cooler temps in the high 20's over the mtn. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies should be present with once again little wind to take note of.

Early Next Week

Tuesday and Wednesday should feature similar temps as Monday in the mid to high 20's. So that's a little cooler than what we've seen the last few days. But that's probably the most exciting thing I can say about the weather, which if you like exciting stormy weather that's a sad fact.

Extended Forecast

End of Next Week & Beyond

As we've been talking about for a little while now... The ridge that is sitting overhead right now shifts slightly off the coast, which brings a change mostly to our temperatures. They look to stay a little cooler in the lower 30's and high 20's most of next week with low's mostly in the 20's.

And as I said in the last post... the position of the ridge is still not favorable for much if any moisture making it's way into the Central Sierra. The ridge may continue to shift further West and North up towards Alaska and Gulf there by the last week of January. That's still the earliest we can expect to see any flakes fly in the region. I know I've been saying that pretty much all of January, but unfortunately I just don't have any better news on that front. There's a fair chance we'll finish off the month with minimal snowfall at best... at least as it stands right now. The moment I start seeing storms show up in the 5 - 7 day window you'll know about it. Till then.. it's a barrage of sunny days from one week to the next.

Till the next one...Mike out.
