Northern Rockies Unsettled thru Next Week

Summary

Both sides of the Divide saw some decent snow totals from this last system – albeit on the lower end of my pre-storm estimates. Bridger Bowl received the most at 13”, then Big Sky, Lost Trail, Discovery and Snowbowl all picked up around 10” in the last 48 hours. Another warmer system is poised to advance from the south tonight and bring in more snow for essentially most of the areas mentioned above (or south of I-90). Friday, weak high pressure allows a moist and warmer westerly flow to override it, providing snow showers across most areas to the north. This moisture stream drives the high-pressure east on Saturday for what looks like a decent storm for Northwest Montana and Whitefish, who just missed out on this last storm.
