Northern SNOW EVENT CONTINUES!
Summary
The state's biggest storm of the winter is still going strong but only in Northwest Montana and along the Northern Rocky Mountain Front. Take a look at these 48-hour totals: 53” at Teton Pass Resort, 35” at Lookout Pass, and 31” Whitefish – and it’s still snowing hard! These areas will continue to see snow through Tuesday with another 12-18”. The reason, cold Canadian air stalled over the northern ¼ of Montana and colliding with copious amounts of moisture being hurled inland by an upper level low off the coast of Oregon. The areas largely missed by this system (to the south and southwest –both sides of the Divide) will also get in on the action with a snowy Tuesday and Wednesday with up to 4-8”. Details below…
