Continued SNOWY til’ Saturday then Dry for awhile…

Summary

Overnight Tuesday snow totals were pretty good on both sides of the Divide but this time the snow affected the areas to the south. Bridger Bowl and Lost Trail Pass received about 9”, and Big Sky and Discovery about 6” to mention a few. The next system, a warm and moist one on a direct and fast moving westerly flow will hit Northwest and West-Central Montana this afternoon and progress over the Divide this evening. Snow levels will rise to the 5000-6000’ range in the West on Thursday but the moisture will be copious. A foot or more is possible at Whitefish, Lookout Pass and Lost Trail Pass by Friday morning. East of the Divide, 6-10” are possible at Big Sky by Friday first chair. Snow showers continue on Friday and Saturday before high-pressure builds on Sunday through next week.
