Summary

Snow today, totals are around 3-6 inches (details on your area in the full forecast), with another 2-3 on the way. This weekend will be clear, followed by potential rain on Tuesday

Short Term Forecast

Good morning everyone, currently we’re in the middle of scattered snow showers moving across the area. Across the board we’re seeing some great snowfall totals already piling up at the resorts. Over the last 24 hours here are some snowfall totals for resorts in your area: Jay Peak 6”, Killington 5”, Attitash 4”, and Sunday River 3”. As the storm continues to move west, these snowfall totals will increase throughout the day. These snow showers are going to persist throughout the day, so it’s going to be a powder day at your local resort if you’re north of the CT border. Exercise caution while on the roads however, there have been reports of icing conditions for each state. Here is the current radar image courtesy of Intellicast:

Due to the orientation of another storm moving in southern Canada, snow will persist into tomorrow morning. This won’t increase the snow pact on the slopes by much, snow falls should be around 2-3 inches across the board. So today and tomorrow will be great days for getting some runs in. If temperatures are a factor for you, tomorrow will be warmer than today. Here are the snowfall total forecasts for your area:

Extended Forecast

Following today and tomorrow morning’s storm, high pressure will move into the region into the region for the weekend. This will bring clear skies, and slightly warmer temperatures to the region. Temperatures will climb well above freezing, so be weary of the snowpack starting to get slushy and easy to push around for the weekend. However if your mountains has the capacity to make man made snow, those conditions will be minimal. Overall this weekend will be fair to good conditions following this storm. Looking far ahead the next big storm is looking to hit the region Tuesday into Wednesday. As it stands this storm is looking to produce a wintry mix, followed by mostly rain. If the model verifies, then it would be a large amount of rain for the region as well. However as always these storms of subject to change when forecasted this far out, so check back in the coming days for details!
