Snow Thursday afternoon through Friday

Summary

Monday through Wednesday will be mostly dry with the exception of a weak wave on Monday that could drop a trace to an inch or two around Taos Ski Valley. Expect breezy conditions Monday through Wednesday with mild temps in the high 20's and 30's at higher elevations, and high 30's to 40's at lower elevation resorts. All eyes are on a warm but moisture-laden storm that will impact New Mexico on Thursday and Friday with 1 to 3 inches at all mountains and 3 to 7+ inches possible in the highest elevations of the northern mountains. Low confidence in the snow totals as some models signal medium to full-on powder potential while others remain on the low-end. Given high moisture content, I would make plans to go Thursday afternoon for storm-skiing and Friday first chair for the best chance of powder. Saturday and Sunday look dry. The chance of snow returns around January 20 to 22 but at this point, totals look to be on the low-end.
