Canterbury Scored Big Time Again, Mt Ruapehu's Turn Now

Summary

An Arctic surge hit the South Island, heavily impacting Canterbury with significant snowfall and road disruptions. Mt Hutt and Porter’s Pass got 35cm, Craigieburn Range received 41-60+ cm, and the Southern Lakes saw lighter snow. Another cold surge today could bring 1-5cm, with Mt Ruapehu expecting 15-35cm today and 5cm Tuesday. Calm weather is expected Wednesday, followed by NW winds and rain.
