A Rough Road Ahead

Summary

Wednesday is set to be a standout day after recent snowfall, with Mt Hutt getting 35cm, northern Canterbury resorts 40-60+ cm, the Southern Lakes 2-10cm, and Mt Ruapehu 30cm. However, the weather will soon turn rougher. A front will bring gale-force northwesterlies, rain, and snow to the South Island on Thursday and Friday, and will move to the North Island by Saturday, affecting Mt Ruapehu.
