Milder air invades
Summary
Unsettled weather with more snow will continue for much of the week ahead. However, snow levels will be up a bit, with a rain-snow mix along the mid-slopes. I’d favor Monday and Friday, with lower snow levels during those days, providing better quality snow.
Short Term Forecast
Several storms will invade the NW in the week ahead. Sunday will start with snow, but milder air will get the upper hand by lunchtime on Sunday. Expect a rain /snow mix to the mid slopes by late morning or early afternoon. Snow levels through the week will be a bit high for good quality snow, in the 4,000 to 6,000 ft range, much for the week - but lower on Monday with a cold frontal passage and again on Friday with another cold front. The upper slopes will get mainly snow all week. The cause of the mild weather is a persistent flow of air from a southwesterly direction produced by the storm track orientation.
