Snow, then clouds & sun

Summary

The weather pattern setting up includes snow, but not include major snowfall. That is no surprise and is usually the case this time of year. There are no problems with coverage. The snowpack is more than adequate and the spring skiing is great. There will be some limited new snow by later Wednesday into early Thursday.

Short Term Forecast

Snowfall will be light over the Cascades late Wednesday into Thursday with 0 - 3” possible, and a snow level of 4,000 ft. By Friday, the weak weather system, which delivered the light snowfall of Thursday, will dissipate. There will be a return to spring skiing, with great groomers and good off-piste, but you should favor the better (colder) snow on the north facing slopes in the morning and south facing in the late morning.

Extended Forecast

The weekend will see a mix of clouds and sunshine. There is a chance of a light snow flurry, but if it occurs it won’t be much.
