Snow Showers, then High and Dry

Summary

Some light snow/snow showers in the northern zone today, and then things get warm and dry for the next ten days. It looks like Volcan Osorno has been, and will remain, open moving forward, so add another resort to the shrinking list. If you want some turns in fresh snow, touring near Portillo or Valle Nevado at upper elevations is your best bet.

Short Term Forecast

Another short one today, folks, with no significant changes in the forecast. I expect a few cms over the next twenty four hours in the northern zone, around Valle Nevado and Portillo, with snow levels falling to around 2600 - 2700 m.

I can't rule out a few other chances for light precipitation, but I don't see any indications of a strong storm in the next one to two weeks.

I noticed, via Instagram, one additional resort remains open in South America. It looks like Volcan Osorno is currently open daily from 10 - 5. I haven't found a closing date but I did reach out to ask. Below are a few shots from the resort yesterday.

Ok, that's all for today. I will be posting a season recap soon, and would love to share any photos you got throughout the year. Email them to me at [email protected].
