Monday was warm with a high temperature around 35-40F and ridgetop wind gusts over 35mph. Then a cold front hit on Monday night, and now on Tuesday morning, the temperature is in the 0-10F range.

In addition to chilly air, the cold front also brought snow, with 2 inches on the mid-mountain snow stake and 1 inch on the summit snow stake camera. You should be able to find soft snow on the groomers on Tuesday morning - enjoy!

The weather on Tuesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the 20s, then on Wednesday and Thursday, expect more clouds with warmer temperatures in the 30s.

The next storm will bring intermittent snow from Thursday night through Saturday morning. I am having a hard time getting a read on this system as there is no single defined time with a better chance for snow. Instead, we’ll see continuous moisture and pieces of storm energy moving over northern Colorado for 36 hours. My initial forecast is for about 3-6 inches of snow, though with warmer temperatures, we might be on the lower end of the forecast range with possible raindrops at the base. For fresh powder, keep your eye on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

Saturday will then be a warm day with high temperatures in the 40s and close to 50F.

On Saturday night and Sunday morning, a strong storm will hit Colorado with snow continuing on Sunday and Sunday night. We might be able to grab 6-12+ inches from this system, and you’ll likely find denser powder on Sunday with the chance for colder, fluffier snow on Monday morning.

Beyond that, winter isn’t over as we’ll have chances for snow on Tuesday night, April 10-11, and again around Friday to Saturday, April 13-14.
