Update

This Steamboat Daily Snow will be updated by fellow forecaster Sam Collentine from Monday, Nov 19 through Saturday, Nov 24. I am on a rare offline vacation with family and will be back on Sunday, Nov 25th. -Joel Gratz

Snow conditions

Thanks to over four feet of early-season snow, our snowpack is 110% of average and the natural snow depth is about 18 inches on the upper part of the mountain.

Saturday snow recap

Snow fell lightly during the day and then we had a more intense burst of snow later in the day through early evening. The summit snow stake cam shows a 4-inch storm total which was in line with the forecast for 3-6 inches.

Sunday through Wednesday

Enjoy the sunshine and comfortable high temperatures in the 30s. Overnight lows will be plenty cold enough for snowmaking.

Opening Day

Lifts will begin to spin on Wednesday, November 21st! More details.

Two more storms

Our next chance for snow will likely be a few inches on Thursday into Friday. Keep your eye on late Thursday or first run on Friday as there could be a bit of powder on the hill.

The next chance for snow should be during the upcoming weekend, though it’s too soon to pin down the details of this storm. If the system comes it strong and makes a direct hit on Colorado, there could be a moderate powder day this weekend.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
